PROFILE EVALUATION
I did my bachelor's in Electronics and Telecommunications with a CGPA of 7.11/10.
I am currently working at IBM India as a Data Engineer from last 19 months.
With an expected GRE Score of 315+ and
More than average SOP and LOR, do I stand a chance to get admission into MS in Computer Science/Data Analytics/Data Science.
if yes can anyone list out the universities I should apply for?
It will be really helpful.
COMMENTS
Rk: @Farazali can you help bro?
Faraz Ali: Yes ofcourse brother, it is just that the courses DS and DA are very competitive, so you might find might find it very difficult to get a top 100 colleges, but a decent college is possible.
CS: Florida University, San Jose State University
DA/DS: Northeastern, NCSU, ASU
I don't have very good knowledge of CS and DS so don't know better.
Rk: @venkateshk1993 needed some help.
venkatesh k: Go with Arizona state university, auburn university, and university of California system, these are moderate and san Jose State university, suny buffalo, University of Cincinnati, University of texas Austin, colorado state university these are safe as per my knowledge, better do some research about the Universities I have mentioned.
Rk: @venkateshk1993 sure. And what about New York University? Do I stand a chance with a score of 320+
venkatesh k: I don't know about ivy league or similar kind of universities because the criteria differs individually, and I can't say
Rk: @venkateshk1993 no problem. You mentioned University of California (.....)?
venkatesh k: University of California LA, SD, davis etc
Mike Tike: @venkateshk1993 For a candidate of CGPA 7.11 and GRE 315 intended Data Science you're saying UT Austin is safe and UCLA, UCSD, UC Davies are moderate. These are top notch universities which attach high priority to acads and research papers and projects. So these universities are super ambitious for this profile.
If I am wrong you can correct me.
I presume you meant UT ARLINGTON in place of UT Austin.

venkatesh k: https://www.cs.utexas.edu/graduate-program/prospective-students
Faraz Ali: @Alininja @venkateshk1993 Mike I agree, UTA is beyond ambitious, UCLA UC Davies too are very very ambitious for this profile even with 320 GRE score. UCSD might be possible, it'll be moderate I think.
Mike Tike: @venkateshk1993 That way I can list out requirements of Stanford, Harvard etc. They just state the minimum requirements and it doesn't mean a CGPA of 7.5 /10 will get an admit. You have to see the profile of admits in these universities then you can understand the requirements
Rk: There is a fine line of difference between minimum requirements and average admitted profiles for a certain universities. So @venkateshk1993 might have suggested acc to min requirement while @Alininja is focusing on average admitted profiles.
venkatesh k: Come on let the guy know what your opinion is don't fight me okay, I know people who got into universities like Carnegie with less than 320 and less than 8 cgpa. I can only suggest, and the guy has to decide what he should do. If you are concerned let him know not me.
Rk: @Alininja according to you (considering avg admitted profiles) which all uni I should aim?
Rk: @venkateshk1993 no hard feelings from anyone bro.
venkatesh k: Yeah,????
venkatesh k: That's a smiley there
