Georgia Institute of Technology, more commonly known as Georgia Tech, is one of the most reputed public research universities in the world. Founded in 1885, GeorgiaTech initially started with core programs like mechanical, civil and aerospace engineering. But in the early 1900s, it started a host of other programs, and now is highly reputed for ALL of its courses as well. Another thing to be known about Georgia Tech is the fact that it has ‘satellite campuses’ in France, Ireland, China (Shanghai) as well as Singapore. Students are often given options of specialized programs wherein they spend one year at the main GT campus and another year at one of the foreign campuses. It ranks #69 according to U.S. News' 'Best Global Universities Ranking' list.

The M.S. in Information Security program requires a total of 32 semester hours. Each student is required to take a set of core courses, elective courses from one depth specialization, and a free elective from any specialization. The core is composed of six courses and the specializations are three focused courses tailored to each student's interests. Students who successfully complete the degree will have their specialization listed on their official transcript.
All students will receive a common grounding by taking courses in a fixed core. These courses will provide the students with a foundational knowledge of current information security theory and practice. Subsequent focused concentrations will then allow students to pursue either a primarily technical path or a policy path.

On Campus Program
Information security is no longer just a computer programmer’s problem. It touches multiple disciplines, careers, and nearly all aspects of society – from public policy to energy management to product design. In a time when connected devices could outnumber humans, there is an urgent need for 1.5 million cybersecurity professionals who can solve a multitude of challenges. The on campus program masters degree facilities this each year by ensuring collaboration between students and the institutions. Maximum learning skills are delivered to the graduates giving them a high chance of getting jobs as soon as and even before they graduate.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Master's degree requirements supplement the Institute's master's requirements. No grade below B in a core course will count towards graduation. In addition, no grade below C in a specialization or elective course will count towards graduation. Students must achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 to graduate. At most 3 credits of CS 8903 may be applied towards degree requirements.
