The Master of Science in Data Science delivers a comprehensive framework for processing, modeling, analyzing, and reasoning about data. Through experiential learning, students are exposed to the realworld challenges of implementing data science techniques to solve meaningful problems and effectively communicate with data. Interdisciplinary program between the College of Computer and Information Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering Courses are tailored toward technically or mathematically trained students.
Elective courses are available from seven colleges throughout the University, including D'AmoreMcKim School of Business, the College of Arts, Media and Design, and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Master of Science in Data Science curriculum requires five core courses that jointly represent the essential technical skills in data science:

Experiential learning at CCIS integrates professional work experience into your Master’s degree education. Whether you are changing careers, seeking to deepen your expertise, or are an international student pursuing a new path, our programs will enhance your classroom studies, advance your career, and help you grow intellectually, personally, and professionally. The graduate level co-op program is a voluntary experiential learning option available to students who meet eligibility requirements. It supports full-time students enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, Health Data Analytics, or Cyber Security master’s degree programs. There are three primary components to the CCIS graduate co-op process: preparation, job search, and work experience. For the purposes of eligibility, internships and cooperative education are treated as a co-op and not considered separate experiences. The co-op process also includes successful completion of the Graduate Cooperative Education Seminar (CS6949), as well as clearance meetings with your co-op coordinator and abiding by all co-op policies.
