Course Description

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering offers the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. At the MS level students may pursue a program preparing for advanced practice or for MS thesis research. Its course concentrations is in: Material, Science Engineering, Mechanics and Design, Thermofluids, Mechatronics Engineering, and General Mechanical Engineering.

Job Prospects and Placements for Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University

All MS students with assistantships are required to complete a thesis. Other students may elect either the thesis or non-thesis option. All course work must have the approval of the academic advisor. The College of Engineering Graduate Cooperative Education Program (co-op) is one option for experiential learning and is available on a competitive basis to selected students.
