Oklahoma State University is a public research university founded in the year 1890. It was originally known as Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical College (similar to everyone’s favourite TAMU). Sometimes referred as OKState, is at best a mid-level tier-2 university. The Princeton Review rated it among the top 50 “Best Value Colleges-Public” for the year 2010. Oklahoma State University is listed as one of 120 “Best Western Colleges” for 2011, and as one of 50 "Best Value Colleges-Public" for 2010 by the Princeton Review. The Master of Science in Business Analytics and Data Science (MSBAnDS) is a comprehensive inter-disciplinary program in business data analytics conducted in a multi-platform environment that includes SAS®, Python, R, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI and Big Data Tools like Azure. Additionally, the program places a strong emphasis on soft skills and business acumen development. “MSBAnDS curriculum is designed to produce the best in class advanced analytics and marketing data science professionals by focusing on holistic development of each candidate. In addition to classes, students are provided numerous free trainings beyond their coursework in many advanced analytics topics as well as soft skills. This is the place where students work hard and play hard to achieve their dreams.

On Campus Program
This on-campus program is intended for students with engineering, mathematics, statistics, science, information technology or business background with a passion for working with data to solve challenging business problems. It is an interdisciplinary program that offers hands-on application of data analysis along with a unique blend of coursework in Analytics, Machine Learning, Marketing, Statistics, Business and MIS. This program will include an integrated core set of data science experiences, while allowing the students to specialize in areas such as marketing analytics, health analytics, among others. The structure of the curriculum has been carefully designed in consultation with our advisory board companies to balance the need of understanding quantitative approaches, statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms along with data visualization and exploration, interpretation of results and the ability to apply these results for solving business problems. Some of our Advisory companies include Walmart, Barclays, Elevate, Heartland Payment Systems, SAS, ISN, Paycom and etc. According to TFE times, the program holds the 21st spot in the 2020 Best Master’s of Business Analytics Programs.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
The MS in Business Analytics and Data Science candidates may be required to complete knowledge prerequisites to strengthen their analytics skills. Knowledge prerequisites include programming skills (in either C, C#, C++, Java, SQL, Python), basic statistics and probability concepts and basic business knowledge. These prerequisites may be satisfied by prior coursework, industry experience, or a combination of courses and experience. The program director must approve any previous courses, experience, or combination. Students lacking prerequisites may be asked to complete additional courses beyond the minimum basic requirements of credit hours (at least 37 credit hours for on-campus delivery; or 33 credit hours for electronic delivery to working professionals).
Program requires applicants to enter their test scores for standardized tests such as GRE, GMAT, or MAT on the online application. You are also required to request that official copies for these tests be reported from the testing agency to OSU. For the GRE, GMAT and TOEFL tests, only electronically reported scores are accepted (OSU's institution code is 6546).
The MSBAnDS Program has admissions for the Fall semester only for on-campus students. We do not admit on-campus students for spring semesters.
If an offer of admission to the program is extended, a non-refundable deposit of $300 will be required for full admission. Failure to pay non-refundable deposit within the specified time window (usually two weeks) will result in cancellation of admission offer. Students who arrive on campus and begin their first semester will have their deposit refunded back to their Bursar account to help offset tuition costs. Students who do not take classes in the semester they have been admitted for will not receive a refund. The non-refundable deposit is program-specific and cannot be transferred to other programs in OSU. Please contact [email protected] with any questions about this non-refundable deposit.

Exam Requirements for Business Analytics and Data Science at Oklahoma State University-Stillwater
Test Codes: GMAT (Institution code V0W-5V-41) or GRE (Institution Code 6546 or R6546)
International students: A TOEFL or IELTS score may be required for admission to OSU, as indicated by the Graduate College. If a TOEFL/IELTS is required, then the minimum TOEFL score for admission to our Program is 89 ibt; the minimum IELTS score is 6.5. (Institution code for TOEFL and IELTS: 6546). If neither test is required, then our Program will not require a score for admissions. IELTS scores should be submitted directly to the Graduate College electronically by request from the testing service. Hard copies of these test scores are no longer accepted.
