The University of Dayton, also called "UD" is a Roman Catholic, Marianist university dedicated to national research; it is the largest private university in Ohio. This university was founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary; it is one of three Marianist universities in the nation. UD offers more than 80 academic programs with its 4 different schools which are School of Education and Health Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Administration and School of Law and also the College of Arts and Sciences, with its 5 most popular majors being mechanical engineering, marketing, communications, finance and psychology.
