Is UC Berkeley a moderate university for me? I do have a kinda low GRE score(311) but my gpa is as of now 9.4. I'm also planning to do a research soon. Gonna apply only for Fall 2018. Do I have a chance for UC Berkeley?

Getting 9.5 GPA in SRM is equivalent to getting 7 GPA in NIT and 6.5 GPA in IIT, consider this first and proceed further in your imagination See more

UC Berkeley is never safe or moderate for any profile..GRE and GPA alone will not get you into UCB!! Try finding some good research internships,publish papers in interviews journal,find international internships or any research internship at IITs etc. and then improve GRE to atleast 320 (you have time to do that).Then hope for the best!! See more

I will be Ambitious only...As UCB like univs look for not just the undergrad GPA but also the your potential in Aptitude and English I.e., GRE and TOEFL . They get lots and lots of applications with excellent profile with very good GPAs from top univs across the world (including IITs) and high research background and also excellent relevant work experience etc. So it is an equation considering you... UC Berkeley is difficult. There should be some wow factor, in you application. Just having a GPA 9.5 doesn't guarantee you admission. As you are more inclined towards research, try to get few international publication before you pass out.
