Hey!
I just wanted to know why is there such a dramatic difference in the ranks of UIC and UIUC (Biosciences) ? I don't really know if this is a good question to ask but it does bother me.  Is it only the small size and high fees at UIC that reduces its rank or is there more to it?

@Madhura1993 UIUC is highly ranked for almost any field. It's analogous to comparing UC Berkley and UC Riverside. The ranks are based on student performances, faculty research, and other things. BUT, what you should be looking for is where you will be fitting well. Ranks are not an ultimate merit to judge a university. It is possible that UIC is offering things that interest you more, say relevant specialized coursework, or professors with relevant research or funding.  But, UIUC will offer pretty much anything you want and that is why they are so good. The courses are designed in such a way that there is always something interesting happening to learn.
