About:

The University of Iowa attracts the brightest students from across the world. International students entering in the fall (August) 2020 term will be considered for a limited number of merit scholarships. Financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, or need-based aid is not available for international students.

International Distinction in Education Award is given to incoming first-year international citizens (not U.S. citizens or permanent residents) who are graduates of a high school outside the U.S. International first-year students who will graduate from a U.S. high school are eligible for domestic non-resident scholarships.

Scholarship Requirements:

International students entering the fall (August) 2020 term will be considered for a limited number of merit scholarships. Scholarship selection is competitive, and is based on holistic review of all application information, high school marks/grades, and ACT or SAT scores.

How To Apply:

Scholarship is awarded automatically to eligible students upon admission beginning November 1.
