California State University, San Bernardino came into existence in 1960 when the US legislation enacted to establish San Bernardino-Riverside State College. Later the college System board trustees selected a piece of land in north San Bernardino and built a campus. Slowly the college started gaining a University status. Thus today it stands for the California State University of San Bernardino.

The University is located at the foothills of the San Bernardino, which is on the northern side of the city. It is one of the beautiful Universities in California.
The University offers various students’ services like women’s centre, non-remedial tutoring, health service, day care, etc. The University also provides counselling upon campus safety and security and provides services regarding them.
The California State University, San Bernardino provides co-ed dormitories, special housing for disabled, women dormitories, theme housing, single student apartment and other housing options. On-campus residence gives an opportunity to students interact with each other as they come from the varied and diverse background. The students are able to participate in campus activities and other recreational programs. There is a chance of getting more interactions with the faculty members.
However, off- campus residence is also preferred by many students. Around 91 % students stay off-campus. It is relatively cheaper and privacy is highly maintained.
The University is in California State, therefore, it is as good as to be in heaven. However, since it is in the southern part of California, most of the days in a year are sunny. In winter too, students are seen roaming around without sweaters and jackets. It rains often and may invite a flood situation. During autumn, the temperature fluctuates, and in spring it becomes warmer and delightful again.
On a caution note, since the campus is based in a wind tunnel, the weather is often windy. Students may get wind warnings too while roaming around in the campus. At the end, one must say that it is nice tropical climate.

Around 80 percent of graduation students get some or the other kind of need-based financial aid or scholarship. Paying college fees is not difficult for this University as they provide counselling on fundraising and reducing the cost of living.
