  • These services are in addition to health promotion initiatives like a very extensive sports program.

Student life at Bundeswehr University of Munich

One of Germany's few campus universities is the Universität der Bundeswehr München. The city of Munich, which provides a broad variety of activities and cultural attractions, is only a short bus trip and subway ride away from the 140-hectare site of this former military airbase on the outskirts of Munich.

The campus has a fantastic and well-stocked library, a computer lab, a media center, a language learning center, a variety of sporting venues, and dining options. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk between the lecture halls and the main buildings.

  • The UniBw M's main training facility is the Language Training Center. Its responsibility is to provide functional language training as well as practical language training to all students throughout their academic program so they can achieve and maintain the standard language proficiency level (SLP) needed by the Bundeswehr.
  • The campus places a high priority on sports, and all students are welcome to use the facilities, including a climbing wall, a swimming pool with a sauna and a steam room, a sizable fitness center for working out and classes, tennis courts, beach volleyball nets, sailboats, and ski and snowboard rentals.
  • The Computer Center provides services like scanning, color printing, and multimedia preparation in addition to its four computer rooms, which have a combined fifty machines and are partially available 24/7.
  • On-campus events are recorded by the media center. The media library has these recordings. However, the media center also supports celebrations like the awarding of certificates, events, seminars, and lectures of the children's university. The media center's films are mostly related to research and teaching.
  • There are a variety of dining options. The university cafeteria (Mensa), which offers fairly priced breakfast, lunch, and dinner, is the least expensive choice.
  • Visitors are encouraged to relax and take in the ambiance at the new eateries "Brandl" and the UniCasino.

On campus accomodation at Bundeswehr University of Munich

On-campus housings are available but for a limited number of students therefore, there are several off-campus options for students.

  • The bedrooms are doubles that can accommodate two persons. Showers, the kitchen, and the bathrooms are shared.
  • In Germany shared apartments, or "WGs," are common housing arrangements for students. Everyone has their own room in a shared apartment, but the bathroom and kitchen are shared with the other apartment dwellers.
