There is no place like California's beautiful and mutli-cultural San Francisco Bay Area. It is arguably the scenic, cultural and entertainment center of the American West. Students will find exciting places to go and things to do, with the chance to discover all the sights and attractions of two major metropolitan settings-- San Francisco and San Jose/Silicon Valley-- just a 30-40 minute drive away. Our internships programs also make it possible for students to get on-the-job experience and practical training with companies throughout the Bay Area.
When arriving at Cal State East Bay's main campus in the Hayward Hills, the first thing you will notice is the spectacular view of the entire San Francisco Bay Area. You’ll also appreciate the green open spaces throughout the 364-acre campus.

Being in the San Francisco Bay Area, the weather is generally mild year-round. It’s important to dress in light layers with a sweater or jacket for when it gets cooler in the evenings and early mornings, but be prepared to shed it later in the day as it’s usually sunny and pleasant in the afternoon. While the Bay Area doesn’t get snow, there are great places to ski and enjoy snow just a three-hour drive away.
