California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) was established by the California State Assembly in 1957 as the State College for Alameda County and its current name was given to it in 2005. The university is part of the 23 campus California State University (CSU) system, the largest public university system in the U.S., and is accredited by is Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited (WASC).
