Moreover, Queens College was established as the “college of the future”.It has only recently become the part of the City University of New York (CUNY).
The college offers a good mix of research and practice, with the aim of critical thinking. It also offers a good mix of modern technologies and information resources along with enabling its students to address complex problems and push them to explore the various cultures. Queen College is also the only CUNY College that participates in Division II sporting competitions.

Queens College is located near the Kissena Boulevard and close to the homely and warm boroughs of Queens, New York.
Queens College exists within ample green spaces and sprawling trees surrounding the campus. The most notable of all the notable structures in the 80 acre campus are probably the state-of-the-art computer and science laboratories. Other notables include a super massive Rosenthal library which is stands six-story tall. Each and every class room is equipped with modern day utilities.
The Campus and the buildings present are environmentally sustainable. The Summit hall carries the Leadership in Energy and Environmental standards (LEED) certification.
The campus offers a residence hall with about 500 bed dormitory. The dormitory comes with all sorts of amenities including WIFI, fitness centers, well equipped kitchens, laundry services, et cetera. All of this in addition to the study lounge on each floor.
The College provides a range of courses and teaching methodologies. Queens College boasts of its rigorous courses and programs in the liberal arts and sciences. They are taught by well-established and recognized scholars and professors who have been merited with Guggenheim fellowships and Fulbright awards along with various grants from National institutions.
The College has a student-faculty ration of 16:1. This ratio enables the students to have a better interactive momentum with the faculty. Moreover, this figure is better than most private colleges.
One of the major advantages that one could draw from Queens College is its wide alumni network. It remains active and well-functioning throughout. Though it is essentially dependent upon the students efforts to access and push the placement society towards their requirements.
The courses and program are well rounded and cover a wide variety of subject areas in Liberal Arts and Sciences. The College is proud of its 24 departments and offer over 78 major courses. It is through the CUNY Graduate Center that they are offering more than 20 doctoral degrees.
In demographic terms the College provides habitat to individuals from different communities across the globe. It is a true unity in diversity. The College offers quality education to people with capacities and capabilities across all backgrounds and financial means.
Moreover, the ethical intents and larger university network through CUNY is impressive. It is also evident that most people might look at Queens College in the light of it being solely a community college. But, their opinions are deconstructed by itself in lieu of evidences. Queens College is still a college which is for and by the community. It is definitely a cool place to be and study.
