Transportation in the city

The University does not have transportation. Public transport in the city is very affordable and very convenient. Students can take Delft Buses, Trams, and trains to and from campus. 

  • The train station is 5 minutes from the city center, and students can reach Rotterdam and The Hague by train in under 20 minutes. 
  • There is also a direct train to Amsterdam. 
  • Students also prefer to travel from Cycles inside the campus and around the city. 

Services offered by the university

  • The University has medical services with sufficient medical insurance and personal liability insurance. 
  • The University provides confidential advisors to the students who deal with undesirable behavior at the University. 
  • The Delft Library has over 2,00,000 online and offline resources for the students and faculty to consult to. 
  • Students have access to the Central Complaint Desk, which assists the students in dealing with various complaints at the University.

Student life at Delft University of Technology

On campus accomodation at Delft University of Technology

The University does not have any on-campus housing facilities for the students. All national and international students must look for housing options outside the campus. All the international students need to secure housing before arriving in the Netherlands as they have to register their official address with the officials to validate the visa. The average living rent is 900€ (72,000 INR) per month. 

  • Delft is a small city, and finding feasible accommodations is difficult. Students can discover accommodations through rental agencies and private landlords. Thus, students also look for accommodations in the nearby municipalities because transportation is convenient. 
  • Students can also look for homestay options where they live with local families who are paying guests. 
  • Additionally, the University has partnered with various housing agencies to help the students find accommodations during their academic year. Students must register through TU Delft's housing portal to access it. But even these rooms are limited, and around 45% of the students get the rooms. Rest have to find accommodations on their own.
