Emlyon Business School, formerly known as Emlyon Management School, was founded by the local business community in Lyon (France) in 1872. The Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry has granted the school official certification. The Emlyon Business School’s name has undergone multiple changes. First known as ESCAE Lyon, it later went by the Higher School of Commerce of Lyon. For the school's 125th anniversary in 1997, it was renamed E.M.Lyon. In 2005, it was given the name Emlyon Business School. One of France's top business schools, EQUIS by the EFMD, AMBA, and AACSB, have all granted its approval to the University. 

The Emlyon Business School also includes campuses in Paris, Saint-Etienne, Casablanca, Shanghai, and Bhubaneswar, in addition to Lyon.
