Spanning over 435 acres with 72 buildings, the university is located in Terre Haute, Indiana – the state that has been recognized by Princeton Review as ‘one of the best in Midwest’ for 11 years running. This gorgeous campus is pedestrian-friendly and known to be one of the most environmentally responsible “green” colleges in the US. The campus is 10 minutes away from a major interstate and highly accessible from Indianapolis, Saint Louis and Chicago because of its central location.
Apart from this, the campus is well thought-out in terms of its infrastructure. It is fully equipped with women’s centre, day care, one-way streets, ample parking space for vehicles, including handicapped parking space, curb cuts, elevators, accessible restrooms, storage. The campus security is pretty tight with 24-hour patrols, late night transport service, lighted pathways, 24-hour emergency telephones, and controlled room access.
It is a typically Indiana weather that can tend to be a little bipolar at times. The days are usually warm and sunny, followed by cool evenings. Winters can be quite harsh, it’s better to be prepared for some snow so that it doesn’t catch you unaware. Because no matter what the weather, classes are always on. So it’s quite difficult to use weather as an excuse to give your class a miss!
The university has a student-faculty ratio of 20:1 and the faculty members are dedicated full time to guide the students at each step and contribute in their academic success.
ISU feels proud to see its birds flying off the nest. Students get an opportunity to sit for interviews with some of the country’s leading employers and get themselves a job or an internship. The campus provides many tools and holds a lot of workshops to prepare the students for such interviews. The successful college alumni is pretty active in the recruitment process as well.
