The Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a coeducational, public and comprehensive university which was founded in the year 1963. With a little more than 1,000 students in 1963, the university currently has more than 32,000 students enrolled for various academic programs in education, business, criminal justice, sports management and nursing. KSU is a member of the University System of Georgia and is the 3rd largest university here. The university stands at the 71st spot in 2016 edition of Best Regional Universities in the South of United States.

The university is located in Kennesaw, Georgia in the United States. From Atlanta, it is around 20 miles to the north and is easily accessible through the Interstate 75. The university has a suburban setting and students have a lot to do around the campus as restaurants, museums, pubs, etc. are in abundance around the campus.
The campus is spread across 384 acres of land. The university has a 163,00 sq.ft. Social Sciences Building which features a cinema classroom that can accommodate 100 students, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 302, a digital lab and more than 40 classrooms with state-of-the-art technology. On the east of the campus is the A.L. Burruss Building which accommodates the Michael J. Coles College of Business. There is also the Kennesaw Hall in the east which has the Bagwell College of Education. The university’s president’s office is also located on the top floor of this building.
To the southeast of the campus is the Convocation Center which is used for concerts, lectures, athletic events, theater performances, convocation ceremonies and graduations. The Bentley Rare Book Gallery on the west of the campus houses more than 15,000 reading materials on western world’s written work history.
The University Suites were finished in the year 2008 and has 915-beds for freshman of the university. Apart from these suites there are also many other on-campus residence options. Moreover, there are also off-campus accommodations that are run by the university. Transportation from these off-campus accommodations to the university is also offered by the KSU.
Kennesaw enjoys a mild weather throughout the year. The rains can be a bit heavy at times but it is nothing to worry about. It gets around 50 inches of rain every year while the average rain in US is 37. The snowfall is minimal at 1 inch. July is considered as the hottest month and the average temperature in this month is 90F. January is the coldest and average temperature is about 28F. On an average, more than 200 days in a year are sunny in Kennesaw.
There are more than 600 faculty members at the KSU. Out of this, 35% of them are assistant professors. Around 43% of the faculty members are on their way to a tenured track whereas, 28% of them are already tenured. 74% of the faculty has a doctorate. The student-faculty ratio at the university is 21:1. The classes at KSU are a bit challenging but the professors are always ready to help the students.
At the KSU, around 65% of the undergraduates get some kind of financial aid in the form of grant-reward or scholarship. The average of this financial aid is $3,407. The in-state tuition and fees of the university in 2014-15 was $6,932, whereas out-state tuition and fees in the same year was $19,828.
KSU’s Center for Education Placements and Partnerships (CEPP) and Career Services Center (CSC) shares the same motive of not only educating the students but also preparing them for the modern work environment.
