The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) is a healthcare focused university with a full spectrum of healthcare programs. It is an accredited, private, non-profit organization. It was first established in 1823 as the Massachusetts College of Pharmacists  and in 1979  it was granted degree awarding authority. The 11 schools represent different areas of health sciences.

The MCPHS Boston campus is located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area.  This setting among the most prestigious medical and research institutions in the world affords the students ideal opportunities for learning and honing their skills. The other campuses are the Worcester, MA campus and the Manchester, NH campus.


The summers are warm. The winters are very cold and wet. It is partly cloludy year round. The temperatures vary between 23°F and 82°F. It rarely goes below 9°F or above 91°F. The period between late June and mid September is considered the best time for warm weather activities.

Faculty and pedagogy

The online part time course of study would impart required knowledge and skills via expert instructions and hands-on experiences in the business related aspects of healthcare including capital finance and accounting, operations management, value chain and revenue cycle considerations. Specialized knowledge is provided through a concentration in biotechnology, payer/provider, entrepreneurship or medical devices.

The total semester hours would be 36 for those with business related degrees and 48 for non-business graduates. There are 11 modules, each carrying 3 credits and a MBA Capstone with 3 credit points giving a total of 36 credit points. The non-business professionals would undertake 12 more credit hours with 4 modules, each worth 3 credit points.
