The campus has an urban setting with its main campus situated in North Park; while the other three campuses are located in other metropolitan areas. North Park is a well-defined community area of the City of Chicago. The university is bordered by the Foster Avenue Chicago and River's North Branch on the south, the North Shore Channel on the east, Cicero Avenue on the west and Devon Avenue on the north. North Park is centered in the heart of Chicago. The community has a nice terrain with friendly inhabitants. It is lively and offers lot of basic amenities and has a reliable transport system. There are lots of exciting sites in North Park. These include Peterson Pulaski Industrial Park, Woods Forest Preserve, Jackson Park, Washington Park, two large cemeteries, a nature center, LaBagh, and North Park Village
The university offers a number of housing units for students living on campus. As of now it has accommodation available for 600 people, priority is given to out of state students but make sure you inform well in advance as the seats are limited. For the rest of you the university staff will assist you in finding accommodation outside campus in various residence halls, hostels or apartments. The housing units are okay and comfortable. The housing units range from a single apartment to a shared apartment. The rooms are okay and are fitted with the right basic facilities.

Over the course of the year, the temperature usually varies from 22°F to 83°F and is rarely above 91°F or below 5°F. The warm season extends from June 3 to September 20, with an average daily rise in temperature above 73°F. The hottest day of the year is around July 19, with an average low of 71°F and high of 83°F. Winters are wonderful because of the snowfall. The cold season lasts for 3.2 months, from December 2 to March 9, with an average daily high temperature below 43°F. The temperature can drop as low a -18 celsius. So put on your jackets and get ready for snowball fights! The coldest day of the year is around January 29, with an average high of 33°F and low of 22°F. The wetter season extends from March 29 to October 31, while the drier season extends from October 31 to March 29. Springs and autumn are mild and short, temperatures range from 13 degrees to 17 degrees.
Although the university does not arrange placements or internship programs they will help and encourage you by giving you many tool kits and workshops to set you up. This is a better approach because job hunting is a valuable skill that only develops through practise and requires independence. If someone else does it for you then you never get the chance to develop this vital skill. Also, their guidance and support is in depth, from networking, searching for work, elevator pitches, to nailing the interview everything you can imagine is covered in these workshops. Be smart, and independent.

You would like to do that as it is basically a buffet of social gatherings, extracurricular activities that you can pick and choose whatever interests you.
Now let us talk about the other recreational options that are available to you. There are numerous sports like Basketball, Rock Climbing, Spinning and swimming. For those of you that wish to get fit then you can receive personal training, Zumba, high ropes and weights training. For those of the aesthetically inclined. Northeastern Illinois University is a great school to consider if you desire to be in a school where quality education is a priority. This university is great. It has an amazing pedigree of notable alumni. The city of Chicago itself offers excellent exposure, although keep your hands over your wallet all the time!. The university offers a vibrant research and learning community for all students irrespective of the nationalities of the students. The university’s philosophy of teaching students to job hunt and be independent is an approach that I agree with and has long term benefits and independence from students. Imagine if you got a job which sucked and you need to job hunt on your own! You would already have gotten experience and guidance from your lecturers, it is great. The campus life is lively and there are more things to do, so you are going to be really busy. The weather is a bit humid but comfortable for almost everyone.
Northeastern Illinois University has a number of infrastructures in all its campuses. These include laboratories, lecture halls, instructional buildings, seminar rooms, administrative buildings, and other research centers. For instance, there is the Salme Harju Steinberg Fine Arts Center which houses the Department of Music & Dance, Department of Communication, Media & Theatre, and the Art Department. Others include the Bernard J Brommel Hall, Lech Walesa Hall, Carruthers Center of Inner City Studies. There is a formation called the Nest. It is a center where students are given access to a study area and fitness center.
The university has a standard library known as the Ronald Williams Library. The library is great and has multiple computer labs, audio labs, as well as a cafe within its building. It holds a countless number of books and other published journals.

The university offers a number of financial aid to its students. These include several scholarships, funds, and grants. For instance, the university has a scholarship for Student Housing to provide financial assistance to students. Each successful student receives the sum of $1,000.
