Old Dominion University is a public, co-educational research university located in Norfolk, Virginia. There are over 300 student body organizations that you can join, 28 fraternities that you can be a part of and over 14 varieties of dining options.
ODU also boasts of a massive Student Recreation Centre which is located in the middle of the ODU campus. The facility includes- a multi-level fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, indoor running track, three court gymnasium, multipurpose court, many group exercise studios, cycling studio, some racquetball courts and much more.
For students enjoying outdoor activities -they also have outdoor adventure and rental centre, bike and skate shop and an indoor climbing wall. The college Outdoor Adventure program lets the students to partake in fun adventure activities such as skiing, camping, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking, yoga, rock climbing, hikingand etc.
Moving out and living alone is a huge step for most students. Hence, ODU provides both On Campus and Off Campus housing options to its students. ODU’s Norfolk Campus is located only a few miles from the sandy beach of Virginia Beach. Also located nearby is the historic Williamsburg, which is one of the nation's oldest seaports and one of today's fullest international seaports on the east coast.
As the ODU is situated in Norfolk in Virginia, the place experiences a humid subtropical climate with moderate change in seasons. It experiences warm summers but due to its proximity to The Atlantic Ocean, there is a slight cooling effect in the daytime temperature and a warming effect during nighttimes. Also, the place experiences heavy rainfall and sometimes is subject to tropic thunderstorms. Winters on the other hand, are not so harsh. It snows intermittently in Norfolk and the winter temperatures can dip to slightly above freezing levels.
The Old Dominion University has a student-faculty ratio of 20:1. With faculty members from different sections of academics, ODU boasts of a varied staff, with a rich experience in service. The faculty experienced in Business, Management, Marketing, Social Services, Psychology etc, focus on training and development of students. Students can have access to the staff outside the class as well. Faculty members do their best in imparting the best of knowledge and education to their students at ODU.

ODU also provides the option of Re –activation, meant for those students who for some purpose had to leave their education partway, can re-apply to complete their degree.
ODU values placements and has allocated The Career Management Centre to do just that. The Career Management Centre is a valuable resource for students looking for placements. It also holds mini seminars to educate students. They also have advisors that help students connecting with potential employers and guide them in the process of getting jobs.
