How to Apply at Roskilde University
Applying for the RUC is very easy. You have to follow the following steps:
- Select a program of your interest.
- Go to the optagelse.dk website and apply there.
- Pay the application fee.
- For international students, select the program named International Bachelor in Natural Sciences/Humanities/Social Sciences, etc.
- The application fee for international students except EU/EEA country students is 165 EUR or 1.230 DKK.
Documents Required to Apply to Roskilde University
For international students, the following documents are required:
- Transcript/Certificate of the Upper Secondary School.
- All I-20 Documents, including Passport, bank statement, visa, transfer verification forms, etc.
- Verification form
- Danish Residence permit.
- For Quota 2 applicants, a CV and Motivational letter are also required.

Campus life
Transportation in the city
Transportation in Roskilde is very easy. It is very relaxing to bike or even walk in the city. Many people prefer to bike because it is very cheap. Public transport is also available in the city. Roskilde has a very connected bus system. It’s easy and convenient to travel by metro and bus. You can also use E-scooters to get around but it can get a little expensive. The University is located at Universitetsvej 1, 4000 Roskilde University and the nearest bus stop is Arboretvej. Roskilde Train Station is just 5 minutes away from the university too.
Services offered by the university
Roskilde University has so much to offer to the students. With amazing faculty, RU has a vast campus too. Some of the services offered by the university are:
- A huge library for the students to study and research their subjects.
- Beautiful campus with diversity for students to grow and socialize.
- RU has a canteen in the middle of the campus named Grab’N Go for students to eat and hang out.
- Excellent infrastructure and classrooms.
Student life at Roskilde University
Roskilde has a gorgeous campus in Trekroner. It’s spacious and with a lot of greenery around the walking area for students.
Students can truly enjoy their college life at the campus of RU. Students can join many clubs and engage with other students. They can even form their groups and clubs. The Student House of RUC is a very open place for students to gather to meet and organize different events. Multiple sports facilities available in RU are:
- Street Scape is a great area near the college for students to hang out and play different sports such as football, hockey, and basketball in the evening. They also have free-to-use skate rails.
- Trekroner Hub, established in 2014, is where students can get together and play basketball, table tennis, etc. You can even have a barbecue there.
- An 18-hole Disc Golf course is also available for the students to use all year.
On campus accomodation at Roskilde University
University doesn’t provide accommodation on Roskilde University Campus to everyone because it's very challenging. They only have a limited number of rooms on campus. So, they provide residence only to the exchange students. But they suggest and support the global network Housing Anywhere to students to find rented rooms and apartments.
RC campus has three dorms, which are Korallen, Kolibrein, and Rockwool, for exchange students. All the dorms are near the campus so the students can easily walk to the classrooms.
