Transportation in the city

Tokyo University of Science is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan and the distance between the ward and the university is 3 kilometres. The most accessible way to get from Shinjuku to Tokyo University of Science is through the train which lasts for a duration of 18 minutes and is estimated to cost between 1.10 USD (85 INR) to 2.19 USD (170 INR). The fastest root to get from Shinjuku to the university is by taxi which takes 3 minutes and costs between 14.18 USD (1100 INR) to 19.33 USD (1500 INR). Buses operated by Toei Bus have a direct line from the city to the university which departs every four hours and operates every day. The journey takes approximately 18 minutes and costs around 1.66 USD (129 INR)

On campus accomodation at Tokyo University of Science

Tokyo University of Science provides hostel facilities on campus for all students, including international students. The university has dormitories across the Katsushika Campus, Noda Campus and the Kagurazaka Campus. 

Accommodations are available in the form of one-unit rooms, boarding houses and such. The following are the above mentioned residential hostels, along with their respective amenities. 

  • On the Kagurazaka campus, the university’s Dormitory I consists of one-room units around 24㎡ offered at a rent of approximately 550 USD (42,667 INR). The basic room facilities are also plentiful. 
  • The TUS Dormitory III is a boarding house newly renovated into a dormitory used exclusively by the University. This dormitory is perfect for students who are living on their own for the first time, as it comes with furniture and appliances. Located at the Tokyo University of Science, this dormitory was newly built at the same time as TUS Dormitory II so that students can live comfortably on campus.
  • On the newly built Noda campus, the TUS Dormitory II is equipped with the latest in security, this student dorm is all-electric and boasts a designer touch. It is made up entirely of 28.88 ㎡ single-room residences.
  • Similarly, the Noda campus opened its Noda International Community house, aiming to enhance community skills and foster a globally-capable student body.
  • With the opening of the Katsushika Campus, the Katsushika International Dormitory was opened nearby for the exclusive use of the Tokyo University of Science students. This dormitory is occupied by both Japanese and international students. Residing together in one building helps foster a cosmopolitan mindset among all students. The dormitory contains single rooms and shared rooms (three rooms share a kitchen, bathroom and toilet).
  • On the Katsushika Campus, Tokyo University of Science students established a dormitory called  "Tokyo University of Science, Katsushika Community House" where facilities also include separate male and female communal bathing facilities (with saunas), giving students a way to experience traditional Japanese culture.
