The University of Arkansas is a public, co-ed Research University, which was founded in 1871. The university is recognised mostly for its agriculture, law, architecture, business, creative writing, communication and Middle Eastern studies programmes. The primary administrative building of the institution is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The one feature that is unique to the University of Arkansas is its 5 miles long sidewalk, winding across the campus, which has names of its students inscribed on the entire stretch. Vitamin E was co-discovered by an Agricultural Chemistry professor in the University of Arkansas.
