The University of Bayreuth is located in Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany. Bayreuth is a town on the Red Main river in Bavaria and at it, the center is the Richard Wagner Museum in the composer's former home, Villa Wahnfried. Wagner's operas are performed at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus, home of the annual Bayreuth Festival. On the eastern outskirts, the Hermitage Gardens surrounds the Altes Schloss Eremitage palace and the Temple of the Sun (Sonnentempel), which honors the god Apollo. The Margravial Opera House is one of the finest Baroque theatres in Europe. It is the oldest working tableau in Bayreuth and it's also a museum.
The university has different infrastructures put in place to ensure effective learning. Bayreuth’s University Library well-stocked library contains around 2 million books and periodicals and almost as many e-books and online periodicals which provides free access to a wide variety of e-books. Its IT service center supports the University of Bayreuth’s research and teaching in all computer-related matters. The University shop offers a wide range of merchandise. The university has well-equipped laboratories, lecture halls, and CIP pools, among others. Students enjoy the benefits from research-based internships and the access to high-performance mathematical software.
The university has available dormitories which are offered by the local Association for Student Affairs (Studentenwerk). Students application must be submitted to the Student Affairs by the stated deadline in order to be included in the “lottery” system used to assign rooms. Applications which are submitted after the deadline are placed on a waiting list. Student apartments, shared apartments are also available outside the campus. Some of Bayreuth’s housing associations reserve a portion of their apartments for students.
In Bayreuth, the winters are very cold and windy; while, the summers are comfortable and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature usually varies from 25°F to 75°F and is rarely above 87°F or below 10°F.
The warm season extends from May 29 to September 10, with an average daily rise in temperature above 67°F. The cold season extends from November 16 to March 5, with an average daily drop in temperature below 43°F.

The university campus life involves so many areas. The campus has its restaurants and cafes, the Student newspaper which is used to pass information and announcement to the student. Television and radio stations are also available for information distribution. Different societies are present and the sport and recreational center available.
The University of Bayreuth has altogether all the facilities and infrastructure needed by a student to pursue a degree and successfully graduate. It allows the pursue of extensive research int various aspects of life and education.
