Colorado Springs, one of the most popular tourism destinations in the US is itself a strong reason to get admissions in this university, only if you are looking for some fun and adventure.
UCCS is located on 550 acres in northeast Colorado Springs at the foot of Austin Bluffs, a rugged natural cliff formation. From the campus, you have a spectacular view of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, including Pikes Peak, the 14,115-foot mountain that inspired the song "America the Beautiful." The beautiful location in Colorado Springs is also ranked by U.S. News and World Report (2016) as among the top five best cities in the United States in to live.
Colorado Springs has also maintained their laws and regulations unlike the old times of Cowboy era. If Clint Eastwood was still a character then he would have been working at the city’s town hall as a clerk instead of being a cowboy. Being strict with the administration, the city is safe and beautiful. Over all it is a good city with a fine population to study and work at.
UCCS is established on the urban side of the city with a good sized campus of 520 acres. The overall campus includes 20 buildings with upcoming construction of a new $60 million Performing Arts Center almost completed. The main attraction of the campus is its Kraemer library, with its vast range of books. It is also included in the best library list of the US.
The university provides good housing within campus which is clean and well maintained. There are a lot of privileges provided for the students who live within campus and the pricing can vary from 10,000 US$ to 12,000 US$ for a year including all amenities and meals.
The sun is almost always shining in Colorado Springs even when there is snow. Winters range from mild to moderately cold, January and December are usually the coldest months with an average low of 18 degrees F (-8℃) and July being the warmest with an average high of 85 degrees F (29℃). Snowfall is usually moderate and remains on the ground briefly because of direct sun, with the city receiving 38 inches (97 cm) per season, however, the mountains to the west often receive in excess of triple that amount.
The student-faculty ratio at University of Colorado--Colorado Springs is 18:1, and the school has 40.2 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students. UCCS has a faculty and staff of 601 teachers who are focused first and foremost on their students. They provide an exceptional educational experience that prepares students for their career and life. Till now, there have been no reports of faculties being rude or irresponsive towards students. There have always been good reviews about the faculty as they always responded to their students and have been helpful in every manner.
The university provides a lot of financial aids to their students. Apart from scholarships, if a student needs any other kind of financial aid then all he must do is contact the administration and they will help him throughout.
Just like all other universities, UCCS also conducts in-campus placements for their students. The problem that lies here is that the placements happen on the basis of the exams that as conducted prior to them on the basis of which the students are appointed to meet the HR consultants.
Every university has its pros and cons, UCCS, in general, provides a good education with lots of campus engagement opportunities. It, however, does require students to stay out of the comfort zone to find internships, student clubs, and on-campus work opportunities to engage students on campus.
