    The UMBC is located in the Hilltop Circle in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, limiting with the communities of Catonsville and Arbutus, 10 minutes away from downtown Baltimore City and just 9 minutes away from the Baltimore–Washington International Airport. Its setting is suburban, even though is not located in the city, supermarkets like Save-A-Lot, Giant and Weis Markets #89 are 6 minutes away from campus for those students that do not have the meal plan and like to do their own groceries. However, most of the students prefer to buy meals on restaurants nearby like Chick-fil-A that is set on campus or Subway that is located a few blocks away.

    The campus size of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County is 500 acres and it counts with more than 30 buildings not including the housing halls. Besides all the building diversity the campus has beautiful green areas and even students developed some projects of green roofs to research the impact on hydrology, or the flow of water through the landscape and now both the Residential Life Community Center and the Administration Building possess green roofs. Furthermore, the campus offers students different services like day care, health insurance, health service and security service maintaining a 24-hour police staff for any inconvenient that takes place.

    The University of Maryland, Baltimore County provides an organization to help students find the perfect housing on campus, the "Residential Life" is responsible for operating and maintaining the residential facilities as well as coordinating programs and services for the students who live on campus. In the list of halls available for on campus you got dorm style like Chesapeake Hall, Erickson Hall, Harbor Hall, Patapsco Hall, Potomac Hall, Susquehanna Hall and if the student is looking for an apartment style housing the Residential Life organization provides the Hillside Apartments, Terrace Apartments, Walker Avenue Apartments and the West Hill Apartments. However, they are plenty of options for housing off-campus in the near communities like Arbutus and Catonsville.

    The weather in Baltimore, Maryland is partly cloudy year round, during the year the average low and high temperature can go from 30°F to 89°F. Summers lasts for approximately 3 months and a half usually from June to the first week of September and mostly the summer days are hot and humid. In contrast, the cold season last for about 3 months too, usually from December to March and commonly the winters day are very windy and chilly; however, the temperature is rarely below 18°F. In brief, if moving to Baltimore to apply to the UMBC is the plan, with a good jacket for the windy days you will be good to go.

    The UMBC is located in the Hilltop Circle in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, limiting with the communities of Catonsville and Arbutus, 10 minutes away from downtown Baltimore City and just 9 minutes away from the Baltimore–Washington International Airport. Its setting is suburban, even though is not located in the city, supermarkets like Save-A-Lot, Giant and Weis Markets #89 are 6 minutes away from campus for those students that do not have the meal plan and like to do their own groceries. However, most of the students prefer to buy meals on restaurants nearby like Chick-fil-A that is set on campus or Subway that is located a few blocks away.

    The campus size of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County is 500 acres and it counts with more than 30 buildings not including the housing halls. However, they are plenty of options for housing off-campus in the near communities like Arbutus and Catonsville.
