The University of Michigan is located in Dearborn Michigan, 10 miles west of downtown Detroit in the Evergreen Rd. The UM-D is located at the state of automotive pioneer Henry Ford and is divided into two sections: the Fair Lane which is the Henry Ford State, The Main Campus, The Fairlane Center and the Early Childhood Education Center in the south of campus. The campus surroundings have an urban setting allowing students to buy any daily needs products just a few blocks away from campus, stores like Walmart and Home Depot along with restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings are 5 minutes away from campus.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn campus size is 210 acres where 70 of them are occupied by the delightful nature and the longest still running urban bird research observatory in North America which has operated on campus since 1992. The UM-D campus offers a variety of services to students including health insurance, tutoring center, women center and placement service. Also, the university provides security services 24 hours with vehicles patrols and emergency phones along with late night transportation.
The UM-D does not offer on campus housing, however, they provide other options for student housing where the students will find comfort and a place to rest, study or just relax. There is a recently opened housing option called The Union at Dearborn that is located adjacent to campus, The Union are apartments that offer fully furnished bedrooms with kitchen and living room with WIFI and private baths available along with shuttle service to campus with a variety of stops during the day.
