In Paradise, Nevada, there is a public research institution called the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Las Vegas Strip is about 1.6 miles (2.6 km) east of the 332-acre (134 ha) complex. From 1957 until 1969, it was a component of the University of Nevada. The University Medical Center of Southern Nevada's Shadow Lane Campus, which houses both the School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine, is part of it. It is located just to the east of that facility. The only law school in the state is the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV.

How to Apply at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

  • UNLV accepts only first-year students who submit either the Common Application or UNLV Application. We advise you to select the most practical application for you because neither the UNLV Application nor the Common Application is given preference.
  • Send in your test results and official transcripts. You must provide your official high school transcript if you did not self-report your high school courses and grades on the UNLV application. Scores on the ACT or SAT are recommended for UNLV course placement but are not necessary for enrollment.

Transportation in the city

Everyone who parks on campus has access to the services listed below:

  1. Jump Starts: Parking and transportation providers will supply jumper cables if your car's battery dies.
  2. Emergency phones: These are available across the campus for your convenience and security. Each phone post has a blue light affixed to the top for quick identification. After nightfall, University Police Services will send a student security officer to accompany you as you make your way to your car.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS:-

  • U-Pass: The Regional Transportation Commission offers bus passes (RTC).
  • Taxis and rideshare services have designated pick-up and drop-off points across the campus. These services include Uber, Lyft, and taxis.
  • FlixBus offers an inexpensive bus service from the campus of University of Nevada to a few American towns. The Tropicana Parking Garage's north side is where the Flixbus stop is situated.

1 What are Rebelmail and WebCampus?
It is simple to remain in touch with your teachers and classmates thanks to the range of services and technology provided by WebCampus UNLV. So, regardless of campus closure, inclement weather, illness, or a family emergency, you may quickly enroll in an online course or work from home. Rebelmail is your student email. Your student email address is the only acceptable way to reach you on campus.

2 How can I obtain a parking permit?
Parking permits for University of Nevada can be ordered online via the Office of Parking & Transportation Services website. Please contact the Parking & Transportation Services office for help setting up your account.

3 How can I submit a scholarship application?
The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships administers awards, and both on- and off-campus organizations and procedures are used to select beneficiaries. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Alternate Need Form must be completed by entering first-year students for their application to be automatically reviewed for scholarships.

4 How can I be sure I'm enrolling in the right classes?
Only your major and the official placement data that the Office of Admissions has received will be used by your academic adviser to place you in the appropriate classes for your first semester. To ensure you are enrolling in the appropriate courses each semester, you must visit your adviser at least once a semester. Your degree worksheet is a useful tool to ensure you are enrolling in the courses required to finish your degree.

5 How can I get ready for university?
Attend student orientation, schedule a semesterly appointment with your academic advisor, and don't be afraid to inquire. Whenever you are unsure of something, always ask for assistance.
