About University of New Hampshire

The University of New Hampshire, also known as the UNH is a public research institution that was founded in 1866 as the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts and is the flagship of the University System of New Hampshire. UNH is located in the city of Durham near the coastline of the state and it offers more than 100-degree programs and a wide variety of study abroad programs.     The University of New Hampshire is located in 105 Main St, Durham, north of Portsmouth, about 20 minutes away from the New Hampshire seacoasts and The Maine and an hour away from Portland, Boston, and the White Mountains. The UNH locality it’s a rural setting and the closest towns nearby are Madbury, Dover and Portsmouth; however, the campus has access to daily necessities like supermarkets for students to do their daily groceries, the closest one being 3 minutes away from campus called “Happy Market” and also access to entertainment like the MUB movie theater located inside the campus.

    The University of New Hampshire Campus is recognized for having a traditional New England Campus in the city of Durham. The campus owns a total of 2600 acres that are distributed between buildings areas, campus core and open lands. The UNH provides a variety of student's service like health service and insurance, public transportation and controlled access to dorms. Students love being around on campus because you have the opportunity to join more than 150 clubs, any sports activity or just have a great meal in the dining halls.

    The University of New Hampshire has a variety of options for housing on campus; it could be on dorms like The Hills, The Valley and The Timbers or apartment styles like The Gables and Woodside, although all these options are great and set according to the preference of the students, this are only for undergraduate. However graduate students have their own hall named Babcock Hall. Babcock Hall is available for 21 and older students who are looking for a quiet and mature environment with a mix of culture since most of the international students choose this hall because it offers single rooms which mean you can have more privacy.

Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 16°F to 83°F and is rarely below 1°F or above 91°F. It only has 3 months of summer and is not that hot compared to other states.

    The University of New Hampshire is located in 105 Main St, Durham, north of Portsmouth, about 20 minutes away from the New Hampshire seacoasts and The Maine and an hour away from Portland, Boston, and the White Mountains. The UNH locality it’s a rural setting and the closest towns nearby are Madbury, Dover and Portsmouth; however, the campus has access to daily necessities like supermarkets for students to do their daily groceries, the closest one being 3 minutes away from campus called “Happy Market” and also access to entertainment like the MUB movie theater located inside the campus.

Students love being around on campus because you have the opportunity to join more than 150 clubs, any sports activity or just have a great meal in the dining halls.
