The Sunshine Coast University College was established in 1996 and was renamed as the University of the Sunshine Coast in 1999. The learning and teaching options are available at multiple locations; USC Sunshine Coast, USC Fraser coast, USC Gympie, USC caboolture, USC Southbank, USC Mortona bay, USC study Hubs at Noosa and North lakes, USC Melbourne and Sydney.
The programs offer the choice and flexibility to choose a program which are career focused. All programs include a strong focus on core skills, hands-on training, practical experience and internship-things that are required for a bright future. Study and learning support, orientation assistance, career planning and advice,health and well being support and scholarships and financial support are given for all the students. A safe and supportive environment is created for students of all ages, cultural backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations and faiths.
The Faculty of Arts, Business and Law with 4 schools, and 3 research centers and the Faculty of Science, Health, education and Engineering with 4 schools and several research facilities form the nucleus of the structure of the learning and teaching facility at the USC.

The flagship campus of USC is located at the heart of the Sunshine coast at Sippy Downs. The MBA courses are conducted at Sippy Downs and South Bank campuses.
Sippy Downs has been designated as a 'Knowledge Hub' in the Queensland Government. Sippy Downs is a beautiful place bordered by Mooloolah River National Park on one side and other by Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens. Students can enjoy the tranquility and various waterfront parks which serves as a great attraction for picnics.
The Innovation Center Sunshine Coast is a business incubator and accelerator controlled by the USC. The students have access to the USC library, the Art gallery, modern teaching and study spaces, a community garden, the Co-op Bookstore and a space for multi-faith prayer and quite reflection. The students are provided with online access to the resources at the library such as databases, journals, USC archives and collections, company information, standards and codes, statistics and Law resources. There is a high performance Sports Area with Olympic standard swimming pool, fully equipped gym and the 200 seat USC Stadium, which is home to the Sunshine coast lightning netball team. The USC South bank campus is just a 10 minute walk from the Brisbane CBD. The campus offers quite study areas, a students commons and kitchen, a 24 hour computer lab, IT and library services and a space for prayer and quite reflection.
The students at the Sippy Downs campus have a wide variety of options from a student village, share a house or live in a place of own. The USC does not provide student housing, but accommodation could be found in student accommodation complexes within walking distance from the campus. Some of them are Uni Central, The Village and varsity Apartments.
The USC South Bank campus area has plenty of hostels, backpackers and other short term accommodation in Brisbane which are suitable until a long term arrangement could be made. The city has a very efficient public transport system.
In Sunshine coast the summers are warm, muggy, wet and partly cloudy. The winters are short, cool and mostly clear. The temperatures vary between 50°F and 83°F. It rarely goes below 42°F or above 87°F.
The period between late April and late September is considered best for warm weather activities.
The USC provides scholarships and bursaries to needy students to fulfill their learning goals. The scholarships range from $500 for a one-semester bursary up to $32,000 bursary to cover the entire graduate course. Additionally there are USC Equity bursary and the Study Support bursary. The USC Student Well being and USC Student Guild are resource centers established to assist students obtain financial assistance.
The careers services provide the following assistance to all the students and graduates from day one and beyond graduation. Workshops and events, Career development Team Drop-ins, Student Hub, Resume and job application assistance, career counseling and guidance, career guide and resources.
The Student Hub is an online resource where in formation regarding upcoming events, and jobs from casual to those which are exclusive for USC graduates are found.
The USC alumni is a global network with thousands of graduates dating back 2 decades. They serve as advocates, advisers, guest speakers, donors, student internship providers and industry partners.
The alumni stay in touch through events and social media. The alumni magazine Ignite is very popular. There are a number of benefits given to alumni at the USC. Alumni with notable achievements are eligible for Outstanding Alumni Awards.
